ROCKVILLE, MD – November 23, 2011 – BioReliance Corporation announced today that it is launching a new and improved Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), specifically designed with high-throughput capacity for large sample volume client programs in its Animal Health Services (AHS) business. This fully validated system has been implemented with the collaboration of LabWare LIMS and internal developers.
BioReliance Corporation is a leading contract services company. Its clients include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, consumer product, medical device, academic and research model organizations.
This high-throughput LIMS was originally developed and configured for the AHS Clinical Pathology laboratory and has been used since the beginning of 2011. This system is now online for all AHS departments, including Serology/Immunology, Molecular, Bacteriology and Comprehensive services.
LabWare LIMS is validated for GLP as well as non-GLP samples, 21 CFR Part 11 compliant, and offers a number of valuable improvements over the current in-house systems. This system provides a bidirectional interface between the laboratory analyzers (equipment) and the LIMS. The interface automatically transfers sample identifiers, demographics and workorders to the analyzer and records result data. Other features improve efficiency and trackability in the lab. These features will improve turnaround times and reduce the risk of human error. Another important feature is the capability to offer multiple reporting formats. This is a significant improvement which allows test results to be uploaded directly into client systems.
“I am excited about our new lab data automation technology and capabilities for Animal Health Services,” said President and CEO, Charles C. Harwood, Jr. “Including the introduction of the ReliArray protein array for serology as well as the addition of Clinical Pathology services, BioReliance now provides one of the most comprehensive portfolio of services for the assessment of animal health utilizing the latest technology. This new LIMS demonstrates our commitment to excellent service capability and delivery.”
